About John Paul
JP has spent most of his life in the Inland Empire and has a deep love for Redlands. From the historical charm of downtown to the farmers market, parks, and family-friendly atmosphere, Redlands is where JP feels at home. He moved here because it’s the perfect place to raise a family – safe, welcoming, and full of activities. Whether it's walking the dogs, enjoying ice cream on Sundays, or hosting BBQs with friends and family, JP loves everything this city has to offer.
Throughout his career, JP has lived in various parts of California, including San Luis Obispo, while taking on roles in municipal government. But when the opportunity arose to move back to Southern California, JP and his wife, Laura, chose Redlands to put down roots and raise their children, Isaac and JW. They've called Redlands home for the past eight years, and their kids have thrived here, joining local sports like boxing and jiu-jitsu. Go Redlands One Jiu Jitsu!
But JP’s passion for his community doesn’t stop at home. Professionally, he has grown and thrived, working in five different cities—Pomona, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Palm Springs, and Hemet. With extensive experience in municipal government, JP now serves as a City Clerk, with a deep understanding of how city budgets and departments work. He holds both a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics and an MBA, and is a Master Municipal Clerk. JP's was also an entrepreneur, having co-owned a part-time business selling liquidation merchandise online.
Now, JP is ready to give back to his community in a new way—by serving as City Treasurer for Redlands. He believes his experience in government and finance can help bridge the gap between the community and City Hall. Through proper oversight and collaboration with Treasurers across the state, JP is committed to improving Redlands’ investments and finances, making sure our city continues to thrive.
